Density without gap:0.572 grams per cubic centimetre. Official site: Unknown at the time of this review. I bought it at  YoyoSam     As if it wasn't hard enough to find reviews for yoyos, finding one for The Mimic is like finding a needle in a haystack. I guess you can't review every yoyo you own but, in my humble opinion, The Mimic is a yoyo that deserves one because it seems to be flying unceremoniously under the radar despite being a solid and fun toy.     I have to admit the colors are not something to be wowed. I mean, they're solids and they are what I would call "palette standard solids" because they're nothing you haven't seen. Do not misunderstand me, the colors are really nice, rich, and nicely saturated, but they're ju...

Specs Material: Delrin body with AL6061 caps Mass: 65.6 Grams Bearing: Type C, Center Track Diameter: 56.4mm Width: 49.60mm Gap: 4.5mm Official site: https://www.thesisyoyos.com/      I have planned to write this review a long time ago, but I started to write my previous article which took me long enough, and also life and other yoyos got in the way.  Anyways, here we are with the review of this guy. Spoiler alert: it's awesome.      I was torn between the black Delrin with galaxy caps and the white one, both look great and while I favored the white version I ended up buying the black one because I managed to get it for almost 10$-15$ less at YoyoSam.com compared to other stores (with a discount code, of course). I don't regret my decision but I can't deny the white looks so damn good although looking at both of them right now, I think the white looks better only because in the promo pics the galaxy pattern has few black and white spots...

Why do some yoyos feel heavier than others?

Image
Have you noticed it? Sometimes you grab a yoyo that it's even smaller in size and has a lower mass than another and yet it feels heavier and plays differently. Why is that? The short answer: Density, the long answer: It gets interesting.           Ok, I think the first thing I should do is to clarify that I'm not a physicist. I'm just a software engineer that happens to like yoyos and that still remembers some of what I learned at university. Also, I know my theory is subjective, maybe you feel different but hey, that's what the comments section is for! :D  With that out of the way, let's start.      By definition, density is mass per unit of volume, its formula is D = m/V. What does that mean for us? It means that the bigger the yoyo (the greater the volume), the lighter it will feel... well, that's a bit simple but it's the general idea that's behind this...

The DareDevil by GWAY Throws

Specs  Material : Aluminum 7068  Mass : 62 Grams  Bearing : Type D Bearing Throw  Diameter : 53.5  Width : 44MM  Gap : 4.4MM  Official site : https://shop.gwaythrows.com/      First things first: I’m a novice player, I am still pushing my way into the echelons of the intermediate player but I believe the fact that I’m not an expert gives very important feedback on the yoyo. Also, I bought it with my own money, so this is an honest unbiased review (other than the fact that I love GWAY Throws yoyos).      Ok, that said, this is a review for The DareDevil, the newest yoyo from GWAY Throws… so, Where to begin? Ah, I know: I’m the kind of player who gets attracted by the look of a yoyo, there are many yoyos that look good and I wish I had them, but I don’t… and yet, I am certainly proud of the ones I have.       It could be the colors (splashes and washes), or the shape, or a combination of both and...
